Cultural Connections for Aboriginal Youth Takes Another Bullet
Last month, RedFox, an organization in Manitoba which provides aboriginal youth with after school and summer activities, were forced to close their doors by a surprise budget cut that will cost many youth a childhood.
Today Alberta’s Aboriginal Arts Program at Theater for Young People, which houses 500 Aboriginal youth making it the largest program of it’s kind, is threatened.
The same funding freeze which was took down RedFox is putting the Manitoba Theatre for Young People in limbo.
Currently, MTYP are moving forward with their summer program but come fall, it may no longer be there.
