Just a reminder
If you uphold any kind of oppression, be it, making fun of someone because of their weight or using any sort of slur, you are not my ally.
If you take every criticism of allies and the things they do that don’t help and instead of listening you throw a tantrum, you are not my ally.
If you think that splattering rainbows all over your FB profile gives you a free pass to promote stereotypes about gay males and bully people, you are not my ally.
However…
If you take the criticism I give you and you change your behavior, if you realize what you said is wrong and you educate people on why, if you stand up not just against homophobia and transphobia but also racism, fatphobia, all kinds of oppression; I will welcome into my safe space with open arms, but I will not consider you an ally. Something about the term ally irks me, I’d rather call you friend.
